Netflix has released the announcement trailer for the new season of Black Mirror. The forthcoming fifth season, which will debut on the streaming service next month, will consist of three episodes.

Fleabag's Andrew Scott, Avengers: Endgame actor Anthony Mackie and pop singer Miley Cyrus will star in the show. Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones act as showrunner on Black Mirror, which returns to Netflix on the 5 June. Last year, the choose-your-own-adventure Black Mirror episode Bandersnatch was released. Brooker and Jones previously said that the "enormous" amount of work required on creating Bandersnatch's many pathways meant that the remainder of season five had to be delayed.

The official synopsis for Black Mirror reads: “Black Mirror is an anthology series that taps into our collective unease with the modern world, with each stand-alone episode a sharp, suspenseful tale exploring themes of contemporary techno-paranoia leading to an unforgettable – and sometimes unsettling – conclusion.”
